Belast met het bijwerken van een klassiek ontwerp van Nike, 1987's Air Max 1, het Nike Sportswear Footwear Design Team koos voor technologische innovaties en werden opnieuw de prestaties gemasterd en esthetisch de oorspronkelijke stijl te creëren van de Nike Air Maxim 1+.
Nike heeft het originele Air Max 1 ontwerp kort door een hedendaagse filter gelopen, zegt Nike Sportswear Design Director Jesse Leyva. Ze probeerden de problemen, die Tinker Hatfield destijds had met de technologie van die tijd, op te lossen met de technologieën en de sportieve Nike innovaties van vandaag en morgen.
Het design team heeft zich gericht op lichtgewicht, stabiliteit en demping. Het resultaat is een verbluffende 66% gewichtsafname van het origineel, de Air Maxim komt slechts op het gewicht van 10,1 gram. Deze dramatische gewichtsvermindering kan worden toegeschreven aan een aantal belangrijke functies:
-Invoering van de innovatieve Acespan Mesh, een lichtgewicht materiaal ontwikkeld voor de 2008 Nike LunaRacer.
-Flywire-technologie, drastisch verminderen van het gewicht tijdens het creëren van de upper van de schoen dat beweegt met de voet en is sterker dan ooit.
-Implementatie van een driedelige geïnjecteerd Phylon tussenzool, het optimaliseren van demping en ondersteuning.
-Er is gebruik gemaakt van een lichtgewicht zeefdruk Swoosh en kenmerkende details.
-Om ervoor te zorgen dat het trouwe beeld van de schoen blijft, behoudt de Nike Air Maxim 1 + het kenmerk nog steeds zijn suède hiel in de oorspronkelijke varsity royal kleur.
Deze Nike Air Maxim 1+ in de zwart/ sport rood-Baltisch blauwe colorway ontworpen door Piet Parra heeft een klassieke vorm van zwart leer en de Flywire technologie gemaakt. De mudguard is van frisse zwarte suède en de binnenkant heeft een zwarte mesh voering. Contrasterende stiksels in rood en lichtblauw. Tijdloze colorway voor geweldige combinaties!
